The Story of Pink Blossom Dairy

In March 2022 I was given permission to use a little block of farmland in Yanakie, Southern Victoria. It was part of a larger paddock being used for cattle, & it has the bones of an old 1950’s Dairy that hasn’t been used in 30 years.

I had often daydreamed about the space, turning the old dairy into a greenhouse, having a little art studio & growing a beautiful garden full of flowers & pink blossom trees for visitors.

I couldn't believe it when I was given the green light & nearly an acre was fenced off for my own use!

We prepped foundations & put in a small portable building - my little pink art studio.

With the help of amazing family & friends, we’ve slowly, slowly been working on clearing & prepping the land. So far we’ve… cleaned out the old Dairy, scrubbed down decades of cow muck, cleared a driveway, dug & built a pond, laid weed mats, cleared out dead trees & farm trash, cleared a huge pile of tires, chopped back an overgrown jungle of bushes, & started laying some garden foundations.

You can view a little video diary of progress so far on my TikTok & Instagram.

There is such a long way to go before it is the garden sanctuary I'm picturing, but eventually it will be an established flower garden & a beautiful space for locals & visitors.

Over summer I welcome studio visitors, open times will be posted on my Instagram or look for the 'OPEN' sign hanging on the front gate when you spot the pink wall of the old dairy.
